There are a lovely set of simple steps that we can use when something upsets or angers us.
1. Stop... pause for a few moments
2. Recognise ... what is it that is causing upset
3. Calm ... a few in and out breaths
4. Hold ... sit with it for a few more moments
5. Look deeply ... consider the good and bad
6. Understanding ... gives us the clarity we need to create a Response which is so much better for us than Reaction. The above steps don't need to take a long time to achieve.
