Distress (or negative stress) is destructive and occurs when our stress response is too high, or too low to be effective and as a result we react emotionally to things, people and situations ... irrationally. Taking a few moments to practice conscious breathing or refocusing on something 'good' can be enough to adjust our stress response.
Easy to do? No... it can be tricky!
Worth trying? Yes... absolutely!
